Today I would like to share some stories of rejection while going across the journey of finding a job and in my career. I believe that most people will get lost in the middle of the crossroad after working for 10 years in my career. I might think about this:

what is or are my future path

What can i offer/value

I have much to offer what my next step, and etc

Changing differnt field or enviroment

lack of challenging or future in current industry

money health and so on…..

Well, there is tons of related reason of changing your career path, and sometimes you will meet lots of setback and obstacle. I have understood all of this depression either you're lost, or you are frustrated with your current job and continually find, but JUST got rejection. The more you wanted the more you would stay in the same footstep, just relax, calm down, and keep tying. When rejection just came often, the only thing you have to think is don’t panic just be patient, you will find it just the time problem.

I have faced many rejections on my journey to finding a job, I notice my weakness is expressing or advertising myself. Please think about a product, the product itself seems normal as other product, but what makes customer or client wants to buy, it’s the package and marketing. The better you know how to promote the better people will want you. This seems not fair, you have a great value to offer but you just don’t know how to express yourself. Since we know our problem, we have to fix this problem, or you just have to bless met a great mentor that admires your value and used it. But according to my experience, there is only 1%~5% you will get the luck.

I come with this formula:

offer get = luck(40) + opportunity(40) + skillset(10).

Do not ever think about how the value you exist for, you have to think in a career it’s cruel, and you can refer to it as a battlefield, everyone is competing with you.

How did I overcome this rejection? Well please think the truth is even though you got a rejection, so what. What do you gain after rejection? The result is not important the process is the most important thing to learn from, even though you see I got rejected, but I have accumulated lots of experience of handling interview skills, and this is what I gain, which is also a valuable experience.

I have been to more than 30 tech companies, and it’s really frustrated preparing all these interviews, resumes, and filling the applicant and then get rejected, I feel bad, sad, hopeless, wondering what’s wrong with me. I just think if there is any opportunity just try it, 100 chances I believe there should be some that really fits me. I highly recommend you discuss some tips with your friend, colleague, or record on it. The reason is, people will give you some advice, and that will really help you.

Lastly, TRUST YOUR SELF, BE CONFIDENT. I believe that God gave us life, is to let us experience the world, face obstacles, and go through them. No one is perfect, we make mistake, but the only thing is you have to know what’s your problem. Do not let the mistake get ignore, find it out, and solve it.

Please always think of career is not school, there will be no friends only who have the skill, no skill, you will be a substitute from others. Always keep learning, upgrading your skills.
